Twenty years ago, sales of rigid boxes was substantial for Mainline due its location to neighbouring county Northamptonshire, being famed for shoe making and requiring rigid shoe boxes. The company now focuses on the supply of this product within the shortest possible lead times, to a quality that cannot be matched by far eastern suppliers.

We are usually asked to produce in materials ranging from 1,000micron to 2,000 micron (1-2mm) thickness. Consumers feel that the more rigid the packaging, the more valued the item inside. Marketing directors understand this, hence the popularity of this in retail.
